My Motive for Starting this Blog

question mark

Several years ago I was a miserable pharmacist among other very unhappy pharmacists.  At the time, except for possibly a career change I really didn’t see any way out.  Sometimes my work environment felt like a trap.  Before I was able to make my situation better many nights I came home tired, frazzled and still stressed from my work day.

Its been quite an exciting journey

I first started contracting my services out in 2006.  My business quickly grew, I eventually was able to make the decision to cut down my full-time position to a per diem basis.  This allowed me to provide my independent pharmacy relief services full time.

My stress level started to decrease.  I was able to take my weekends off and soon it became my choice to work on or around holidays.  My co-workers became very curious about what I was doing and started asking me questions.

Wanted to help fellow pharmacists

I started this blog in order to help other unhappy pharmacists gain a little more freedom and hopefully a nugget of happiness and possibly improve quality of their work life.  Don’t get me wrong, this is not a cure-all, there are still some very challenging days, but I think you’ll find what we’ll show you something better.

Fellow Pharmacists Couldn’t Make the First Step

As I shared with my fellow pharmacists how I started the business and what I did to make it successful something unexpected occurred.

I found that although, so many people I knew were interested in how to be an independent pharmacist and even though we gave them all the steps, they didn’t feel confident to leave their stable jobs and start on this new journey.  As unhappy as they were, they felt safer in their current situations than to try to explore something new.  For whatever reason they were unable to make that first step.

I started to realize that maybe this whole venture isn’t as easy as I originally thought.   So my husband and I decided to not only break down all the tasks into step-by-step instructions, but to help you with the psychological aspects as well. There’s also a mindset or a mentality an individual needs to instill in order to be successful independent pharmacist and we’ll be showing all of you that too.
